Computer of Wendell murder suspect searched

Jakiem Wilson - May 27 court appearance

Investigators searched the computer of a Wendell man charged with murder in his wife's death, looking for clues to how he might have planned the crime, according to warrants released Tuesday.

Jakiem Wilson admitted responsibility for the death of his wife, Nneka Wilson, 24, on May 27, but does not agree that it was first-degree murder.

Wilson's trial is scheduled to begin June 30.

Nneka Wilson was killed Feb. 12, 2007, inside her 6637 Eagles Crossing Drive home, authorities said.

An autopsy stated she died from multiple stab wounds to her jugular vein, lung and heart, and it noted she had defensive wounds on her forearms.

She had been dead for up to 16 hours before Jakiem Willson called 911, claiming he found her dead on the kitchen floor, along with the message, "Your (expletive) is dead. You're next," scrawled in her blood.

He claimed at the time to have been out of town when she was killed. Investigators sought to corroborate or disprove that claim in part by checking when Wilson used his computer.

Two other men, Jamie Russell Holder, 18, of 1418 Old Buck Horn Road in Garner, and Roderick Ryan Howell, 17, of 1337 Hodge Road in Knightdale, are charged with being accessories after the fact of murder.
