Fisherman finds bones of missing woman

print friendly

Bones found recently by a fisherman belong to a woman who disappeared seven years ago, authorities said.

Latesha McNair, 21, disappeared from her Nash County home in early 2001. Her skull was found in a cemetery several months later, and authorities said it showed she had been beaten to death.

A search that included K-9s turned up no other bones at the time.

Last month, a fisherman found a jaw bone, ribs and a thigh bone near the Battleboro community, authorities said.  The jaw bone was identified as McNair's, they said.

Bones spread out and or missing typically involve wildlife. As sad as a story like this is, at least I imagine they had enough samples to make a positive match to give her family some type of closure.

Don't know that I would think ritualistic at this point, given that the bones were found by a fisherman. I would think either current or possibly animals depending on the state of the bones and any physical markings on them.

Skull in one place, bones in another sounds ritualistic.

Praying for her loved ones, and for the fellow who found her.

God bless.

Rev. RB

What a horrible thing to come across.
