Retired Raleigh priest dies in fire

Fire

A retired priest from Raleigh died in an apartment fire in Massachusetts.

Andre Corbin 79, spent 5 years in prison for molesting a child at a Buncombe County church.

Corbin was ordained in Palmer, Mass., in 1961 by the Most Rev. Vincent S. Waters, then the bishop of the Raleigh, N.C., diocese, and assigned to work in that diocese. The Raleigh diocese was divided in 1972, and Corbin became a part of the Diocese of Charlotte.

Investigators found Corbin inside his apartment. They said they did not think the fire was suspicious.
