President to visit Fort Bragg

Fort Bragg, N.C. — President George W. Bush will return to Fort Bragg next week to address troops during All American Week, the White House said Friday.

Bush will deliver a speech to members of the 82nd Airborne Division and tour the post next Thursday, officials said.

The visit marks Bush's fourth trip to Bragg during his administration. The last visit came on July 4, 2006.

Fort Bragg's All American celebration was canceled last year because all four of the 82nd's combat brigades and its headquarters unit were deployed.

This year, the annual Fort Bragg celebration of troops begins early Monday with the Division Run.

Members of the 82nd Airborne will run on Longstreet Road singing cadence and accompanied by the division All American Band and ceremonial cannons.

Sgt. Maj. Kenneth O. Preston, Maj. Gen. David M. Rodriguez and Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Capel will lead the 16,000 paratroopers on the four-mile run.

The public is invited to watch the run, which begins at 6 a.m.

Parking is available near the Lee and Callahan physical fitness centers off Reilly Street and off Butner Road in the Old Division Area.

The division is known as the All-American Division because when it was formed in World War I, it had members from all 48 states. The nickname led to the design of the unit's famous shoulder patch, with twin letters "A" on it.

And who do you mean by "the terrorists"? The Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka are terrorists. Are we fighting them? Are we fighting the Maoist Shining Path in Peru? No, we are fighting al-Qaeda, the ones who orchestrated attacks on our soil. Waging a global war on terror is stupid. Bush is stupid for thinking that he could begin the eradication of terrorism worldwide. The world immediately saw his true intentions when he invaded Iraq. He didn't want to destroy al-Qaeda, he wanted to dominate the entire region. Heck, his cronies wanted to assert domination over the entire world. Winning the Cold War really got to their heads.

Running to the Wall next weekend! Hopefully he will be on his ranch with his true allance to the Saudia's and not Americans ! January can't come to soon ! I pray he does not start any more personal wars with other countries ! God Bless The U.S.A. !

NCcarguy Schazzam! Here's some real news: I AM one of the brave soldiers who went over to the largest litter box in the world. Let it be known for the record, I do NOT aspire in any way to ever think Bush "understands" ANY truth. I took the oath to obey the orders of the cdr-n-chief but thank God it says nothing about believing he is of sound mind. It's no suprise repubs were jaded into believing 9-11 and Iraq were associated. There needed to be some mystical substance to convince you he and he alone was right. There is no cure for his chronic insanity.

Boy, I can hardly wait until that day comes. It will be great to see him off to Texas or anywhere else, except in the white house. This country has lost so much respect in the world because of him.
