Faison, N.C. — Sampson County sherrif's deputies charged a Faison man in the shooting death of an acquaintance Thursday.
Authorities said Felipe Alberto Rico, 35, shot and killed Mario Alberto Rivera in his home on Burch Road, off N.C. Highway 403 at about 9:15 a.m. Thursday.
The person who reported the shooting said Rico fled in a Ford Explorer, and deputies stopped a burgundy Explorer a short time later, authorities said.
Police believe the shooting was a result of a long-running feud between the two men.
