The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert early Monday.

Richard Judy, 58, was last seen walking in Jones County on Sunday morning. Authorities said they think he may be heading to Jacksonville.

He is described as a white man with a beard, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He has sandy blond hair and blue eyes.

Judy has a tattoo on his left forearm of a Navy Seal emblem and a tattoo on his right forearm of a snake. He was last seen wearing a black ball cap, a black and gray cashmere jacket, a dark blue and black checkered shirt, blue dress pants and brown loafer shoes.

A picture of him was not available, authorities said.

Silver Alerts are issued for people suffering from some sort of cognitive impairment, such as dementia.
