Fayetteville Man Sought in Child Abuse Case

Pure Energy, wanted in child abuse case

Police were looking Wednesday for a man they believe physically abused a 6-year-old.

Pure Energy, 35, was caring for his girlfriend's son on April 6 when the boy suffered a life-threatening head injury, police said. The boy was hospitalized in Chapel Hill but has since been released to the custody of relatives, police said.

Energy was described as a black man, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 208 pounds. He uses the alias Dewayne Harrington and might be in the Raeford area of Hoke County, police said.

He is known to be armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detective M. Craig of the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1851 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
