How many lottery employees with a bachelor's degree earn more than a teacher with a master's?

I would just like to know why it is that if all this money is being transferred to the schools, the cost of public education is still rising? Why it is that when I went to school, all I had to have was a pencil and paper, and now the kids need $200 calculators and 4gig flash drives. My daughter had a homework party last week and NONE of the girls there could do simple math without the calculator. Is this supposed to be better for our kids, or easier for the teachers??? I dread the first of the school year every year, because of the lists of items they demand for school use. My oldest is in the seventh grade and I have to pay for what ammounts to the old weekly readers we got in school, for her social studies class. They do all their work from these little pamphlets instead of having real books... Where is the money being used???

It is the NORTH CAROLINA Education Lottery, not the Wake County education lottery. And like road money, Wake County will get little if any school money. It will go to the rest of the state, who will then turn around and point at the "fat cats in Raleigh."

50% goes to pre-K programs, 40% goes to building new schools, and 10% to college scholarships. Of that 40%, 35% goes to counties with above average property taxes, for which Wake does not qualify. If we want more schools, we need to pay for them, a concept lost on people here.
