Site SearchRaleigh, N.C. — Wake Technical Community College on Friday will begin a week-long online contest to select the nickname for the school's athletic teams after narrowing the field to six finalists.
Nearly 500 students, staff, and faculty submitted suggestions during a three-week contest, and a committee narrowed the list down to the following six: Eagles, Wildcats, Warriors, Wings, Sparks and Ventures.
College officials have asked people to vote for their favorite nickname at www.waketech.edu between Friday and April 25. The winning name will be announced at a college pep rally on April 29.
