print friendly

A man was charged Monday in connection with a fatal crash in Lee County.

The two car wreck happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday on N.C. Highway 87, about two miles south of Sanford.

The Highway Patrol said that a 2000 Dodge pick-up truck driven by Donald Ray Harness Jr. crossed the center line, hitting a 2000 Isuzu.

Alejandrino Cruz De La Cruz, of Siler City, was killed. The 31-year-old was a passenger in the Isuzu. The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries.

Harness, 36, was taken by helicopter to UNC Hospitals, where he was listed in fair condition Monday.

Harness was charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license and second-degree murder.

When will these no license, drunk drivers learn that there license was revoked for a reason. This is sad because this is what had to happen in order for him to be stopped. !! Praying for both families.

when are these people going to realize that you should not drink and drive. this country needs to put a breathalizer on every vehicle and you should have to blow in it before you leave, and if you are drunk your car should not crank!!!!!! people are getting killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. prayers to the victims family!!!
