Fetus Buried in Back Yard; No Charges Against Parents

A 12- to 20-week-old fetus was found buried in the back yard of a Dunn home Thursday night.

When officers arrived at 911 Fairground Road, they found the fetus in a shallow grave with a white cross.

A woman at the residence had a miscarriage on Wednesday, police said. Instead of going straight to the hospital, she and a man, who also lives at the residence, buried the fetus.

The mother went to the hospital Thursday. No charges were filed against the parents.

The fetus was taken to a medical examiner’s office.
