Raeford, N.C. — Progress Energy has selected a route for a new 64-mile power line the utility says is necessary to keep up with growing demand.
The line will run through parts of Richmond, Scotland, Hoke and Cumberland counties.
The plan must now be approved by the state utilities commission.
