Durham, N.C. — A Durham man faces charges of breaking into 12 vehicles in the downtown area during an eight-day period earlier this month.
Howard Garner Jr., 33, of North Roxboro Street, was arrested Monday. He is charged with breaking into vehicles on Mangum Street, Chapel Hill Street, West Main Street and in West Village between March 16 and March 24.
Four of the break-ins occurred at one location in the 500 block of North Mangum Street.
Garner is also charged with taking cash, tools, radios, CDs and a purse from the vehicles.
Garner was placed in Durham County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
