Three people face more than 30 charges in a Chatham County cocaine bust over the weekend, the sheriff's office said Tuesday.

Michael David Sutton, 54, and Christina Marie Smith, 31, both of 2132 Siler City-Snow Camp Road in Siler City, and Marcus Arnel Craven, 37, of 799 Mays Chapel Road in Bear Creek, were arrested Saturday on 34 charges – 28 of which are felony charges – including trafficking cocaine, manufacturing cocaine, selling and delivering cocaine and conspiring to sell and deliver cocaine.

Officers seized 68.6 grams of the substance.

Craven and Sutton were in the Chatham County Jail Tuesday under an $85,000 secure bond. Smith was in jail under a $140,000 bond.

All three are expected in court April 14.

This story might make sense for the little drug bust they make in Chatham Co. last week. People on glo wondered why it made the news....maybe he made a deal....

Maybe Smith's bond is higher because she was just convicted of a misdemeanor drug charge on 2/20/08 and is out on probation. The other two have prior felony drug convictions, but they occurred 5 years ago.

Let them all join their ranks in prison.

Why is Smith's bond higher?
