Site SearchRocky Mount, N.C. — A Wilson man is facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting.
At 10:49 a.m. Friday, the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office received a call from 4731 Faith Baptist Church Road in reference to a shooting.
The caller said her husband, Jeffery Todd Ashley, had been shot by Brandon Shane Hinnant.
Upon arrival, deputies took Hinnant, 36, into custody without incident.
Ashley suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hinnant and Ashley both lived in the home where the shooting occurred, but deputies said they had not established a motive.
Hinnant, of 1731 Ridgeway St., was charged with first-degree murder and was being held Friday afternoon in the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.
