Benson, N.C. — A soldier from Benson was to be awarded a posthumous Silver Star on Friday night.
Staff Sgt. William Moore, 27, was killed last year in Iraq by a bomb. Representatives of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg were to present the medal to his family at the American Legion Hall in Benson.
