If your Easter weekend plans include travel in the Triangle, you can expect to pay about $3.26 per gallon for gas. That is 80 cents more than the average just one year ago.

Prices in the middle of the state fall in the middle of the range.

The highest average price recorded Friday was in Wilmington, where some stations were charging $3.30 per gallon.

The cheapest prices statewide are in the Fayetteville area, where the average price per gallon was $3.24.

Yep. They will remain this way until consumers slack off a little. We are not giving any indications that the price is too high. The President has nothing to do with the prices. Out of control speculation on oil futures and out of control Americans are shouldering the blame for this issue. Besides, there are more important things to worry about than gas prices. Debt free (or as close to it as possible) is the way to be.

Each American needs to continue to do more to conserve fuel and stop wasting it. More effort in alternative fuels and transportation needs to be done.

Gas prices need to be high enough to cause people to look for alternative modes of transportation. Period. We did this, guys.

Prices in the Indian Trail, NC area are $3.18

Thank you Mr. President.
