Highway Patrol Prepares for Holiday Weekend

e-mail print friendly

The state Highway Patrol will be out in force this Easter weekend.

Troopers are looking for aggressive drivers, drunk drivers, drivers not wearing seat belts and people breaking the state's littering laws, the patrol said Thursday.

Last year, statewide, eight people died in more than 1,100 wrecks during the holiday weekend.

The Easter period ends Sunday at midnight.

They need to be out there to help slow things down a little. Our roadways are occupied by a lot of anarchists that care about nothing but themselves. Some of course will remove themselves from the planet. To those I send my thanks, because at least you will no longer be around to end the life of an innocent. Fortunately, I will not be traveling. I wish a safe weekend for our Patrol Officers. For those of you that do not seem to realize what the numbers on the sign means: When it says 70 that is the maximum speed; not just a suggestion.

Hdsoftail, for the Troopers who are working this weekend and cannot be home with their families, yes, their concern is for the safety of our highways. That is why the applied to Patrol school, went through 27 weeks of hell to earn the jobs they have.

"I didn't realize easter was a big drinking weekend..." Most of it is probably geared toward college and high school kids heading to the coast for Spring Break.

"I didn't realize easter was a big drinking weekend... timbo" It is for some religious ones. In fact, they're so into drinking, they call their wives, "Sherry".

I am sure their major concern is our Highway safety. (right)
