Durham, N.C. — A school bus hit a utility pole Wednesday afternoon at Cheek and Robinhood roads in Durham, police said.
Police, concerned that the pole might topple and cause more damage, closed Cheek Road in both directions. The road is expected to remain closed through the night. Duke Power will replace the pole Thursday morning.
Durham Schools officials said no students were on the bus at the time. The bus driver was not injured.
