Police on Monday asked for the public's help to locate a 1-year-old girl.

Armana “Mony” Williams was last seen on Feb. 28, police said. The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has since taken legal custody of the child and has been trying to locate her, police said.

She was described as a black girl with short black hair and brown eyes. She might be in the company of her mother, 25-year-old Wachaka L. Williams.

Wachaka Williams is homeless, frequents known drug areas and might be in the neighborhood of Blount Street, South Cool Springs Street or Johnson Street, police said. She was described as a black woman, 4 feet, 11 inches tall and 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the mother or child is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or call 911.

Devil.w.a.b.d. yes, that is a good question, but maybe they have been looking for them and just got word that she is in Raleigh so putting out the word now.

Hope she is found soon and the mother seeks some sort of help.

Well I hope someome finds the toddler and social services helps the mother.

If she was last seen Feb 28, why the he ll are they just now putting this out on Mar 17? If DSS knew the mother was homeless and frequents drug houses, they should have had custody of that child long before now.

Praying they find this beautiful wee one soon, and that she and her mother are safe.

God bless.

Rev. RB
