Lillington, N.C. — A father shot his son Friday before turning a gun on himself, authorities said Monday.
Roy Rogers Ellis, 67, and Ronnie Roger Ellis, 45, were critically wounded Friday afternoon during a shooting at at 414 Royal Pines Lane near Lillington.
Witnesses told authorities that the two were arguing when Roy Ellis fired a shotgun at his son and then tried to commit suicide.
Both men remained in critical condition Monday at Duke University Hospital, in Durham.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
