I think it was a wonderful thing that News channel 14 carried the serivce on their news channel. When a Fireman dies, it is a very emotional, and the fallen firfighter service is so outstanding. You do not realize how many departments from around the country send in firemen to attend. the Fire service whether it be professional, or volunteer, they are a brother hood, and it is a huge brother hood. No matter how far away the other firemen are, if you are a fireman, and need assistance, all they have to do is to go to a fire dept. no matter where and ask, and those there will go out of their way to help. I know that if I am ever in a bind, and my husband is not with me, I can go to a station in any town, and they will gladly make sure that I get what or to where I need to go. It is just that type of orginazition. God bless these heros, and their families. They belonged to the greatest orginazition of men and women ever.

Go Rest High on that mountain. My friend was traveling through the Charlotte area last week and she said for a 20-25 mile stretch over every overpass there were lines of people and fire trucks, ambulances and police cars. She thought that maybe a government offical was coming through but as they got near the end she saw signs that stated the memorial. What a wonderful support family that fire fighters make in their job.

a thankless job for very brave men and women...kudos to all who serve the long hours and give up time with their famalies so that the rest of us can feel secure.. Thanks to GVFD for all they do for our community..

RIP, your job on earth is done. Our prayers are with the families and fellow memebers of their units. We appreciate the service that our firefighters and recue units do for us. Always remember to burn a blue light in your windows to show your appreciation of these men and women.
