RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University is asking all students, faculty, staff and alumni to wear Carolina blue Tuesday, March 18 in remembrance of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's student body president.

"We will do this in remembrance of Eve Carson and to show support for the UNC community," N.C. State Senior Class President Zach Adams said in a message to students. "It is important that we provide support during this time of loss."

UNC will also hold a memorial service at 4 p.m. the same day at the Dean E. Smith Center to remember Carson, who was shot and killed last Wednesday near campus.

It is an open event, and doors at the Smith Center open at 3 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear Carolina blue, the university said.

N.C. State is also inviting members of the community to gather at the campus' Brickyard at 1 p.m. Tuesday for a moment of silence and reflection.
