N.C. State to Wear Carolina Blue in Memory of Carson

Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina State University is asking all students, faculty, staff and alumni to wear Carolina blue Tuesday, March 18 in remembrance of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's student body president.

"We will do this in remembrance of Eve Carson and to show support for the UNC community," N.C. State Senior Class President Zach Adams said in a message to students. "It is important that we provide support during this time of loss."

UNC will also hold a memorial service at 4 p.m. the same day at the Dean E. Smith Center to remember Carson, who was shot and killed last Wednesday near campus.

It is an open event, and doors at the Smith Center open at 3 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear Carolina blue, the university said.

N.C. State is also inviting members of the community to gather at the campus' Brickyard at 1 p.m. Tuesday for a moment of silence and reflection.

I think the word should get out to all the schools in the state to wear blue on Tuesday......and to the general public!! Great idea - and it is nice to see all the schools come together when something bad happens!

This is a great tribute on behalf of NCSU administration, staff and students. Coach K did it last week at the game with Carolina. So, this is great for Eve's family and friends and all of UNC CH. I truly love reading about a great story like this one. God bless.

It's really hard to get mass emails out to students, so there hasn't been an official notice on campus yet. An article ran in the school paper and an email is being sent out within the next hour to most students. It is great to hear there is so much support for Eve, her friends, and her family. She was an amazing person who touched thousands of people.

NC State Wears Carolina Blue: A Tribute to Eve Carson

All NC State students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other members of the community are asked to join us in wearing Carolina blue on Tuesday, March 18th. We will do this in remembrance of Eve Carson and to show support for the UNC community. All are invited to gather at the NC State brickyard at 1:00 p.m. for a moment of silence and a few words of reflection.

At 4:00 p.m., UNC Chapel Hill will hold a memorial service at the Dean Smith Center to honor Eve's life.

I too dislike carolina blue, but some things are bigger than rivalry.

Every time I think the emotional roler coaster is finally over I come across a story like this and it hits me again, and they always put her picture up, man it still gets to me. Well done NCSU, may we never have to return the favor, but if so, I'll don the red in support too.

I only hope Eve had at least a small inkling of just how much people thought of her in her life. She must have been an extraordinary person. It sounds like the world is a lot worse off now, may she rest in peace.
