A man faced multiple charges Tuesday after fleeing from authorities and crashing into the back of a trooper’s car.

Aaron Burnley, 36, of 2432 Bay Harbor Drive, refused to stop his minivan when a trooper tried to pull him over near Capital Boulevard and Interstate 540, officials said.

The chase began around 2:30 a.m. and ended about 15 minutes later near I-40 and Harrison Avenue.

Burnley hit his brakes, and the trooper went around him, officials said. Burnley then intentionally hit the trooper’s car from behind, authorities said. The trooper was OK.

Burnley's minivan, which was traveling 90 mph, lost control and flipped at least three times. He was ejected. Burnley faced several charges, including felony speeding to elude authorities, DWI and careless/reckless driving.

Sorry, but that is BS, he is no more diseased than I am. Just too sorry to quit drinking when he can't handle it. Its time they treated it like the crime it is. He doesn't need a doctor just needs to grow up and stay sober.

I am very thankful that no one was seriously injured in this incident. Burnley has had a drinking problem for a very long time. He really is not a bad person. I know him personally, but alcoholism is a disease and it can destroy your life and the people around you. Unfortnately, there is no cure for this disease.

Parole Board chairman: They've got a name for people like you H.I. That name is called "recidivism." Parole Board member: Repeat offender! Parole Board chairman: Not a pretty name, is it H.I.? H.I.: No, sir. That's one bonehead name, but that ain't me any more. Parole Board chairman: You're not just telling us what we want to hear? H.I.: No, sir, no way. Parole Board member: 'Cause we just want to hear the truth. H.I.: Well, then I guess I am telling you what you want to hear. Parole Board chairman: Boy, didn't we just tell you not to do that? H.I.: Yes, sir. Parole Board chairman: Okay, then.

C'mon JimF, give the editors a brake!

He has multiple charges from 2007 already pending
