Raleigh, N.C. — A man faced multiple charges Tuesday after fleeing from authorities and crashing into the back of a trooper’s car.
Aaron Burnley, 36, of 2432 Bay Harbor Drive, refused to stop his minivan when a trooper tried to pull him over near Capital Boulevard and Interstate 540, officials said.
The chase began around 2:30 a.m. and ended about 15 minutes later near I-40 and Harrison Avenue.
Burnley hit his brakes, and the trooper went around him, officials said. Burnley then intentionally hit the trooper’s car from behind, authorities said. The trooper was OK.
Burnley's minivan, which was traveling 90 mph, lost control and flipped at least three times. He was ejected. Burnley faced several charges, including felony speeding to elude authorities, DWI and careless/reckless driving.
