Lottery Sets Sales Record

The North Carolina Education Lottery set a record last week, selling $29.9 million in tickets, officials said Monday.

“All of us at the lottery are thrilled that our efforts are really starting to pay off,” lottery director Tom Shaheen said in a statement. “Higher sales translate into more money for education, which is what we are all about.”

The previous weekyl record was $27.7 mllion, which was set last month. The lottery sells about $18 million in tickets on an average week.

Did the bother to look at the welfare numbers and see how many more poor people this lottery has created? Somehow I doubt it.

Didn't WCPSS just ask for $35M or so? So I guess what you are telling us then is that just about made that in one week of sales!?

Lot of money moving around up there in Raleigh with this lottery. Who is watching the till? Hopefully its not Easley with the job he did with the Mental Health Money.
