Bradley La Vonta Johnson
Bradley La Vonta Johnson

A maneuver made to avoid the cops merely drew attention to Bradley La Vonta Johnson, 16, on Friday night.

When Halifax Deputy Randy Keeton pulled Johnson over, he found drugs and a gun in his car.

Keeton was driving southbound on N.C. Highway 48 when he noticed the car behind him approaching at a high rate of speed. Johnson hit the brakes and slid sideways to avoid rear-ending the deputy's car. When Keeton pulled the car over for reckless driving, he discovered the stash.

Johnson was charged with careless and reckless driving, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon. He was held on a $4,000 bond and has a court date April 22.

Unfortunately, too many kids will consider him a big shot now. But if he outs his supplier, he and his whole family will be in grave danger.

When something like this happens, our society always has something to say... TO { REDNECK_BOB }, DO YOU KNOW THIS FAMILY???? NO YOU DON'T, SO YOU NEED TO PROOF READ YOUR COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING... THERE ARE MANY GOOD PARENTS OUT THERE WHO TRY THEIR BEST TO RAISE THEIR CHILD TO GROW UP AND BE SOMEBODY, AND MAKE SOMETHING OF THEIR LIVES. PARENTS KEEP TEACHING YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN TO DO RIGHT, AND HEY BY ALL MEANS IF THEY GET OUT HERE ON THESE STREETS, AND THEY GET INTO TROUBLE, THEY NEED TO BE PUNISH AND PAY OUR SOCIETY FOR WHAT THEY'VE DONE..... MAYBE THIS INCIDENT IN HIS YOUNG LIFE WILL HOPEFULLY WAKE HIM UP AND GET HIS LIFE TOGETHER, BECAUSE IF HE DOESNT HE HAS FAILED HIMSELF AS WELL AS HIS PARENTS.....

Parr: "I guess you are saying that all kids that go out and get arrested are from single parent homes.............???? "

I'm saying that any kid who gets arrested and pulls off the thug look in his mug shot without any fear or remorse is someone who was handled with kid gloves in his upbringing. That usually disqualifies a father being in the picture. No father worth his salt would raise his son like that.

murphraven..........."I'm sure at least his mother (or grandmother) is proud. Just as certain that his father is probably nowhere in the picture."

I guess you are saying that all kids that go out and get arrested are from single parent homes.............???? It doesn't mean that he doesn't have a father in the house, just because he got arrested................!!! Remember the old saying, don't assume because...............(I'm sure you know the rest).........

Maybe if the law would finally start holding PARENTS accountable for what their underage CHILDREN are doing then maybe some of these things would stop. Maybe HEAVY DUTY fines to the parents when their kids are caught with drugs, then taking the drivers license of that underage driver until they are of age...anything at this point to steer these teenagers in a more positive direction would be worth something and it sure is better than just "smacking" that hand!
