Lee County Woman Charged in Stolen Mail Spree

Lee County authorities charged a Sanford woman with multiple counts of larceny and identity theft Tuesday.

The charges stemmed from March 1 when 25 people had their mail stolen from Buckhorn Road, Sugar Neck Lane, Sandy Forge Lane and Sue Mintz Lane.

Theresa Ann Sloan, 43, of 3808 Avents Ferry Road, was charged with 25 counts of larceny of mail and seven counts of identity theft. She was held under a $25,000 secured bond.

The postal inspector’s office was also conducting an investigation.
