Hillsborough, N.C. — Town leaders will begin flushing fire hydrants Monday morning in an effort to receive a good fire rating evaluation next month.
The evaluation is done every 10 to 15 years and affects fire insurance rates for the community.
The town typically flushes hydrants twice a year, but because of the drought, it did not flush hydrants in the fall.
People may have cloudy or discolored water. The water is safe to drink, but it could discolor fabric, officials said.
