Enfield, N.C. — Fortress Woods Products' building burned to the ground early Monday.
The company's two-story office, on U.S. Highway 301 near the Fishing Creek Bridge, was destroyed in the 3 a.m. fire, authorities said. The damage was estimated at $300,000.
Flames could be seen miles away from the five-alarm fire near Enfield. At least a dozen fire trucks were on the scene.
Authorities haven't determine what caused the fire, but they said it didn't appear to be arson.
