Dunn, N.C. — A National Guardsman was killed Friday afternoon in Harnett County, authorities said.
Sgt. David Allen Strickland, 29, was driving on Chicken Farm Road south of Dunn when his car ran off the road and he overcorrected, authorities said. The car overturned, and he was ejected, authorities said.
Strickland was transported to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was with the 230th Brigade Support Battalion in Dunn.
