Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — Fuquay-Varina police arrested two people they say were planning to rob banks.
Deborah Leigh Pond, 26, and Ronald Lee Anthony, 17, each face three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery at banks.
The two are also accused of calling in a false bomb report at a high school.
Fuquay-Varina High School was evacuated after an anonymous person called in a bomb threat around 2:20 p.m. Friday, said Bill Poston, a spokesman for Wake County Public Schools.
Police searched the building, but did not find a bomb, Poston said.
The bomb threat occurred after school had ended for the day.
Anthony was being held in jail on a $500,000 bond. Pond's bond was set at $250,000.
