Clinton, N.C. — A man threatened an elderly woman with a handgun and forced her to lead him around her house, giving him any money that she had, Clinton police said.
Linda Norris, 70, of Clinton, said the man had bought a homemade wreath from her on Saturday and came back to her Oakland Boulevard house to collect his change two days later. She approached him with a $20 bill, and he snatched it and ran, according to police.
Later that Tuesday, the man returned and forced his way into Norris' house. He kicked a dog and told Norris he had a handgun, police said.
He ordered Norris to show him all the money she had in her house and threatened to kill her if she did not, investigators said.
The man stole $10 and some change from Norris and then fled on foot towards the Royal Lane Apartments, police said.
The suspect was described as a tall black man with a dark complexion. He had bad teeth and wore black pants and a worn, dark blue shirt.
