Site SearchGoldsboro, N.C. — Wayne County authorities are searching for a former state Highway Patrol trooper who has been charged with drunken driving.
Darian Neal Smith has been charged with driving while impaired in Wayne County but has failed to surrender to authorities on numerous occasions, authorities said.
Smith was a trooper in Greene County, but he lives in Goldsboro, authorities said. He was initially charged with DWI last September, but the charge was later dismissed. Authorities reviewed the case recently and reinstated the charge on Feb. 7, authorities said.
