Darian Neal Smith, former trooper wanted for DWI

Wayne County authorities are searching for a former state Highway Patrol trooper who has been charged with drunken driving.

Darian Neal Smith has been charged with driving while impaired in Wayne County but has failed to surrender to authorities on numerous occasions, authorities said.

Smith was a trooper in Greene County, but he lives in Goldsboro, authorities said. He was initially charged with DWI last September, but the charge was later dismissed. Authorities reviewed the case recently and reinstated the charge on Feb. 7, authorities said.

Hey WRAL, I'll try this again.....This guy resigned in December 2006. And rightfully so, I might add. However, since he hasn't been a Trooper in well over a year, why was it necesary to post this story with the title 'EX-TROOPER'? I'll bet there are several hundred if not a couple thousand people in Wayne County alone with warrants, so why not post theirs? Oh, I know, they aren't EX-TROOPERS'.....

just well to turn yourself in they are going to find you and it will be worse then
