Chapel Hill, N.C. — A 17-year-old was charged Monday night in connection with the shooting of another teenager in Chapel Hill.
Police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Johnson Street shortly after 6 p.m. Officers found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his stomach lying in the road.
The victim was taken to UNC Hospitals. His name and condition were not released.
Police later arrested and charged David Earl Ellis Jr. with attempted first degree murder
He was being held Monday in the Orange County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
