Fayetteville, N.C. — Stanton Moretti Jr. appeared in court with his lawyer Monday to face charges that he used his vehicle as a weapon outside Primo's Pizza in Fayetteville Friday night.
According to police, Moretti was with his wife at the pizzeria on Yadkin Road when Aaron McLeod attempted to rob and stab her. She managed to break free and run inside the restaurant.
As McLeod ran away from the scene, Moretti Jr., gave chase in his car, ultimately hitting McLeod.
McLeod was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon.
