Stanton Moretti Jr. appeared in court with his lawyer Monday to face charges that he used his vehicle as a weapon outside Primo's Pizza in Fayetteville Friday night.

According to police, Moretti was with his wife at the pizzeria on Yadkin Road when  Aaron McLeod attempted to rob and stab her. She managed to break free and run inside the restaurant.

As McLeod ran away from the scene, Moretti Jr., gave chase in his car, ultimately hitting McLeod.

McLeod was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon.

the robber attacked the wrong guy's wife

Way to go! Maybe he should be our Role Model! Taking care of people being victimized! maybe this kind of Man will scare off other criminals...I don't think he should be in court...leave him alone, he was PROTECTING his family, something the law dosent do!

Well this guy doesn t look like he might be from my neighborhood but I applaud him. We need teams headed up by guy s like this to protect the streets of Durham, Fayetteville, Rocky Mt, Wilson, Raleigh and your city too and let the police and city officials do studies and waste money on how to handle rising crime. Follow this guy--at least he's got a clue.

Mayor??? Give me a break. He is a vigilante and should be prosecuted to the fullest. He fired to irresponsible shots into the air. Then jumped into a big body suv and ran him down multiple times. These are not the actions of a rational person. Mr. Moretti is known in Fayetteville as a violent man, and was being sued for assault by a former employee, before any of this occured.

Mr Moretti is a HERO and has protected ALL of us from this dangerous felon and attempted murderer. What do you think the man would do later that night or the next night or the next week? THE SAME ... with worse consequences. GIVE MR. MORETTI A MEDAL AND THE KEY TO THE CITY. I'm voting for him for Mayor.
