Rocky Mount, N.C. — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night in Rocky Mount.
It happened at about 9:30 p.m. at Stony Creek Bridge near Interstate 95.
Police said a tractor-trailer was traveling in the westbound lane when it hit Jason David Mello, 35. Mello was transported to Nash General Hospital where he died.
Truck driver Ancy Antonie, 28, of Columbus, Georgia, was not charged.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnesses the incident to call (252) 972-1481.
