Roanoke Rapids, N.C. — Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office worked together to arrest a Roanoke Rapids couple on drug charges Tuesday.
A search at the home of Bailey Daniels, 23, resulted in the seizure of two vehicles, an assault rifle and over 4.5 ounces of “crack” cocaine. Agents also recovered $20,000 in cash.
Daniels was taken into federal custody and will be arraigned in Richmond, Virginia.
Verdawn Quinae Johnson, 21, was charged with possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was confined to the Halifax County jail under a $75,000 secured bond for her court date until a court appearance on April 2.
