Marktinis Patterson, suspect in Robeson deputy shooting

A Robeson County deputy and a suspect were both shot during an altercation Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Narcotics officers served a warrant at a home off Barker Ten Mile Road, a rural area near Saint Pauls, at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Shots were fired, and a deputy and a suspect were injured, authorities said.

Deputy Jeremy Ammons was listed in good condition Friday morning at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

Marktinis Patterson, 25, was treated at an area hospital and released. He has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of cocaine, trafficking in marijuana and felony conspiracy.

Patterson was being held in the Robeson County Jail on a $10.5 million bond.

Details surrounding the shooting haven't been released.

WRAL cannot report the unknown (they do report incorrectly, and report to their on agenda) don't think they care to much if you do lose you as a costomer ncst8man, their job is not to please you

I don't suppose it ever occurred to you that 10 lines of information may have been all that the LEO community released? Nope, didn't think so.

It really disturbs me when an LEO can get shot in the line of duty, protecting the citizens of this state, and WRAL cannot find the time to give more than ten lines to the story.

HOWEVER, had he been doing something wrong, like speeding, sex on duty, or whatever, they would devote 4 days, twenty pages, and 3 different stories to the topic.

WRAL, you disgust me, and will lose me eventually as a "customer" even if there are no other good alternatives.
