A Johnston County high school was locked down Thursday morning after an armed robbery happened nearby.

The Dollar Store was robbed around 11 a.m., and the person responsible escaped on foot, officials said.

As a precaution, the assistant superintendent for Johnston County schools locked down Princeton High, 101 Dr. Donnie H. Jones Blvd.

Parents were welcome to pick up their children any time.

not the only k-12 left but close

High aspirations in robbing a $ store! LOL @ 11 am in the morning they are bound to have a whole 20 bucks. This is got to be on world dumbest criminals!

As if Valentine's day at schools is not crazy enough...

The only school left in NC (I think) that is K-12.

"Parents were welcome to pick up their children any time." Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a "lockdown"?
