Black Creek — Alcohol played a role in a fatal crash in Wilson County Thursday morning, authorities said.
Investigators said Pikeville resident Delton Alton Scherrod, 27, ran off Highway 117 near Black Creek. He hit a ditch and a utility pole and overturned. He was ejected from his truck.
Residents in the area lost power for a few hours while workers replaced downed lines.
