Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives say thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, tools, cash, electronics and other personal effects were stolen from vehicles parked along Blawell Circle in Stedman on Jan. 29.

Bryant Alan Gainey, 28, and Santana Renee Owens, 21, both of Fayetteville, are expected to appear in court Wednesday to face charges ranging from breaking and entering a motor vehicle to possession of stolen goods.

The third suspect, Jamel Gainey, 17, of Fayetteville, was charged Wednesday with felonious breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny and possession of stolen goods.

I don't quite get the racial connection to chain gangs either. At one time, race was not a consideration as to who committed the crime and what punishment they received.

I guess I'm not a racist like kingmike.

I don't care who they are. Criminals should repay their debt to society by cleaning up the world and making it a better place while learning a little humility in the process.

I wasn't aware that chain gangs were race specific; just criminals in general.

Panther - How can you throw out a racially charged comment like bringing back chain gangs, just because these two perpatrators happen to be african-americans. How insensitive!! Sorry dude - don't reallt mean it, just had to say it before somebody else did.

these people need to get a job what they think the world owes them

If this country brought back Chain Gangs I am sure that a lot of crime like this would cease immediately, especially after a long hot summer or cold winter! Ahhh nothing like a little outdoor activity to end a crime spree.
