The U-Haul companies of Raleigh and South Carolina have joined together to offer 30 days of free storage to victims who have been evacuated or need to move their belongings away from growing brush fires.

The N.C. Division of Forest Resources reported 86 brush fires Tuesday, consuming more than 567 acres.

“These fires have already caused tremendous damage and inflicted extreme hardship on the communities we serve,” U-Haul Area District Vice President Ray Smith said in a news release. “I hope this effort will provide assistance to families that truly need a helping hand in areas affected by these fires. We will continue to help our friends and neighbors in this time of need.”

Families needing more information about the self-storage assistance program should contact the following facilities:

I have used UHaul on a few occasions, and have yet to be thrown hidden charges."frayednot" you might have found yourself a thief for an employee at the time of service.Laying all else aside.I am glad to hear UHaul doing this for the people,as community donations start coming in,these people will need someplace to store goods until a permanent home can be found.

frayedknot, this looks genuine--leave U-Haul alone!
