Jacksonville, N.C. — One month into a manhunt that has reached across the U.S. and into Mexico, a wanted Marine from Camp Lejeune is still eluding authorities.
Lance Cpl. Cesar Laurean left his Jacksonville home one month ago Tuesday. Investigators say he crossed into Mexico a couple days later.
Laurean is wanted in the killing of a fellow marine, Cpl. Maria Lauterbach.She was eight months pregnant when she was killed, and her burned body was buried in in a shallow pit in Laurean's back yard.
Several agencies, including the FBI , are helping with the case that is led by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
