Durham, N.C. — Police arrested two suspects in three armed robberies at fast-food restaurants in late January.

Investigators believe Edwin Langolis, 21, of Palmer Street, and Jahid Preston Diggs, 16, of Middle Street robbed three fast-food restaurants over four days.

Langolis turned himself into police on Sunday to face robbery charges. His bond was set at $150,000.

Diggs was arrested on Feb. 3 after workers at a Bojangles reported suspicious people were hanging around the restaurant. Durham County deputies found Diggs behind some bushes near the drive-thru. He had a handgun on him, deputies said.

In addition to the three January robberies, Diggs was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Police charged Diggs and Langolis for the following robberies:

• Jan. 20, 11:22 p.m. at McDonald’s, 102 W. Morgan St. – Two men armed with guns and wearing dark clothing and bandannas over their faces entered the restaurant and robbed the business and employees. The men forced the employees into the freezer and fled on foot.

• Jan. 22, 12:06 a.m. at Church’s Chicken, 2540 Fayetteville St. -Two men wearing black hooded jackets confronted employees as they were leaving the business and forced them back inside. The men fled on foot after robbing the business and employees.

• Jan. 23, 12:54 a.m. at McDonald’s, Tower Boulevard – Two men wearing black clothing and toboggans and armed with guns forced the manager back into the business and fled with cash.

On Jan. 25, police issued a list of 10 robberies at fast-food restaurants over five days that believe were linked. Langolis and Diggs were charged in three of those robberies.
