If this was a woman doing this to a boy it would hardly be news worthy. As long as there is a double standard then I say the guy did nothing wrong.

My guess, socially inept guy finds a underage girl who thinks he is cool. He becomes accepted by the family as a friend. The girl thinks its cool she is hangingout with someone who is out of HS. He gets to drive her around and act like her boyfriend. Suddenly he tries to be just that. Parents find out and it hits the news.

There are two parties in the wrong, the young man who knowing goes after a girl who is under the age. Regardless of what this 13 year old said, did, dressed or tried, he had no business being with her. Young men should protect themselves and not offer be alone with young girls EVER.

and The parents: Never let your child be alone with a young man/women. It doesnt matter if he is a family friend. Teenagers get things in there brains and act without thinking. All teenagers want to grow up faster than their clocks are ticking. Do you really want to give them the opportunity? Don't allow your children to be put in a situation where they might be harmed.

Please people don't put this on the way this child was dressed. Her clothes have nothing to do with her age and it does not excuse the grown up for doing this type of thing to a child. Yes I do have daughters and this has happened to her twice and you know what - it was reported and the Harnett County Sheriff's Department did NOTHING!!!!!

"Do you have a daughter? How decent do you want her to appear in public and even around your house?"

Why don't we just make them wear burkas in case they look too attractive then we can be "civilised" like they are in Saudi Arabia etc. In this case the age is pretty irrelevent (apart from the charges being more serious) as forcing someone to commit a sexual act is a crime whatever their age, sex and state of dress.

Why was HE driving her? Where were her parents or guardians? Did they make the decision to let him driver her? If so, should they not sdhare some culpability for outrighting stoopidity*??? *Spelled wrong intentionally
