Bond Reduced, Trial Set in 2005 Slaying

The bond for a man charged in a 2005 slaying has been cut because the man has sat in jail for almost three years awaiting trial.

Charles Everette Hightower is one of three people charged with murder in the July 16, 2005, execution-style slaying of Ralph Joseph in a house on Farthing Street.

His bond was reduced from $500,000 to $200,000, and a judge set a June 23 trial date for the case.

Danny "Cuban" Thomas and Velehia Williams also are charged in Joseph's death.
