Crews Clean Up Fuel Leak in Moore County

Crews were cleaning up a fuel leak that spilled more than 100 gallons at a Moore County convenience store Sunday.

Calls about a leak at the Quick and Easy convenience store, 1615 N.C. Highway 22, came in shortly after 11:45 a.m. The Moore County Special Operations Team, firefighters and police responded.

Approximately 160 gallons of either kerosene or diesel fuel spilled, police said.

Officials said crews managed to stop the leak but remained on the scene cleaning up approximately three hours later.

N.C. 22 was closed to traffic for a while but was reopened by 1:45 p.m.
