Wilson, N.C. — A man posing as a law-enforcement officer held up clerks at a Wal-Mart store in Wilson early Saturday, police confirmed.
A man entered the Wal-Mart store at 2500 Forest Hills Rd. around 12:45 a.m. He told employees he was a law-enforcement officer and wore a black baseball cap with yellow block letters spelling "ALE," according to police.
The man displayed a small handgun and demanded money. Workers gave the robber an unknown amount of cash, and he fled in a car, officials said.
The employees were not injured.
Police described his vehicle as a 2007 or 2008 silver Nissan Maxima with a mid-line sunroof.
The armed robber was described as a light-skinned man, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing at least 225 pound. He wore all black clothing and light-colored shoes, as well as the baseball cap.
