Fayetteville, N.C. — A teenager attempting to shoplift at a Wal-Mart store fired at other shoppers as they tried to stop him, injuring a man, police said.
Other shoppers told police they saw the 15-year-old shoplifting an item from the Wal-Mart store on Raeford Road around 9 p.m. Friday.
When other shoppers confronted him, the teenager produced a BB gun. He then shot a man, Kenneth Lochner, in the face, police said.
Lochner was treated and released at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Fayetteville police apprehended the alleged shooter. His name was not released because he is a juvenile.
