Roanoke Rapids, N.C. — Multiple accidents shut down two one-mile stretches of Interstate 95 North in Halifax County for several hours Friday afternoon.
Two tractor-trailers were involved in an accident south of Roanoke Rapids shortly before 2 p.m. No word was immediately available about possible injuries.
A second accident occurred on I-95 North at mile marker 168 around 4 p.m.
Authorities closed lanes between mile markers 171 and 172 and between mile markers 169 and 169.
Lanes were reopened by 5:30 p.m., but traffic delays lingered in the area.
